The Zinifex Port Pirie lead smelter (formerly Pasminco) was built in 1889 for processing early Broken Hill lead concentrates. Since then it has been progressively upgraded and is now the largest primary lead smelter in the world.
Over the years we have carried out various jobs for Zinifex including the slag fumer 117 system upgrade and new blast furnace hood (pictured bottom left) (both in 2000)
