One of South Australia’s largest industrial businesses is WMC’s Olympic Dam operations. The Copper Uranium Division of WMC was established to develop the giant Olympic Dam ore body in northern South Australia, into one of the major mining and processing operations of the world. We have carried out several projects over the years for WMC and their sub-contractors. Here we present a few of these projects.
- Pulse column steelwork (through subcontractor, United KG) (2002)

- Olympic Dam Expansion Project 1997 to 1998 – Whyalla Fabrications carried out several project during the expansion equating to a total of 1200 tonnes of structural steel and plate including the electrical furnace structural steelwork, smelter building stair towers, tunnel feeder monorails, launder support steelwork.
- 12 off Storage silos (1998)

- Remedial work to the Copper Solvent Extraction (CuSX) Plant (2003).
- 1000 tonne surge bin including support structure (1997)
- Pipeline support system approximately 4kms of steelwork including four 35m pipe bridges (through subcontractor FLAKT Australia, 1995).
